A San Francisco based investment management firm is seeking to grow its Legal team as it expands its book of business and explores new investment activities. This is a lean team in which you will work directly with the founder of the firm while also being the point person on various investment deals and any internal legal matters that arise. Pending strong performance, this individual can grow into the GC of the firm or can move directly into the investments team if they choose.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in due diligence activities regarding potential investments or companies of interest
- Managed outside counsel when necessary
- Negotiate fund agreements with investors and prepare related legal documentation
- Provide legal advice for any legal matters that arise within the firm
Qualifications:
- JD or law degree from an accredited institution
- 1-5 years of experience with debt or equity financing transactions
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and independently as necessary
- Strong oral and written communication skills
