Key Responsibilities of the Senior Legal Counsel (Shanghai), Investment Management
- Provide legal expertise across project development, M&A and financing legal affairs in Shanghai, Greater China and APAC
- Draft, review and negotiate documentation for project development activities including joint venture and other partnership agreements - QDLP/QFLP
- Provide advisory and counsel to both the business and technical teams iAdvise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Active involvement in the legal and commercial analysis of acquisition and due diligence documentation
- Provide legal advice and support to corporate functions as well as day to day operational matters
- Effectively work with internal and external functions (Risk, Legal, Tax & Finance)
- Assist with the management of ongoing project development activities with local partners and service providers
Qualifications and Requirements of the Senior Legal Counsel (Shanghai), Investment Management
- A degree in law from a top-ranked, reputable international university
- 6-8+ years PQE, and Qualification as a legal practitioner in a common law jurisdiction (or civil law jurisdiction with the ability to convert to a common law qualification)
- Training and experience working in an internationally recognised law firm and currently working either as (a) an in-house counsel at a related Global Fund Management/Investment Management or (b) a associate/ senior associate specialising in Private Equity (PE/ Real Estate)
- Highest standards of professional ethics, integrity and judgment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills
