We are working on greenfield data engineering project with arguably the #1 global hedge fund and ultimately the leading trading & market-making firm in London who are looking to strengthen their team with the markets top 1% talent. They have recently brought on a new Chief Data Architect from a top tech company to lead the build-out of a brand new team and enterprise-wide Centralised Data Platform. This initiative will completely revamp and change the way the firm is leveraging data for at least the next decade.
The massive scale platform will span across all divisions i.e. Quant Research, Data Modelling, Infrastructure, Investment Research, Cloud, AI, Big Data, Data Analytics. As a result, they are looking to make a few key Data Engineering hires varying in levels of seniority.
The firm positions themselves as technology company first and foremost and so this is truly a role for someone who would prefer to have a larger impact at a firm where there is lots to achieve over the next few years and beyond, more so than you might find at a Big Tech firm.
As a Data Engineer, you will partner closely with investment management professionals, Portfolio Managers, and other engineers across the business to deliver robust data solutions, build ETL pipelines, and help optimise their signal generational process.
Key Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience; ideally with Python or strong OOP skills
- Familiarity with AWS and other modern cloud-based tools
- The breadth of knowledge in computer science fundamentals; from undergrad to guru
- Extensive knowledge of server-side systems and relational databases
- Minimum of Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or similar discipline
