A leading and high performing private debt fund based in Malta is hiring a Chief Investment Officer. This will be a senior management position that will lead to board director level quickly.
The firm is looking for a well-organized and analytical candidate with the ability to dedicate time to manage the company's private debt portfolio and lead the investment operations. The successful candidate will provide insight and direction, lead investment teams, complete all fund transactions and effectively maintain portfolio developments.
To excel in this position, you will possess a sound understanding of all investment policies and guidelines, demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and maintain a strong professional work ethic.
For non-Maltese applicants, this could be viewed as a three-year role however we can operate with an unlimited end date. There is a possibility, if there is a desire from the candidate, for the role to be relocated to the UK after 2-3 years.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establish effective and well-organized investment processes.
- Manage the investment team.
- Write clear and well-informed investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
- Organise regular investment reports and reviews, including quantitative and qualitative portfolio studies.
- Attend annual meetings, review quarterly financial statements and remain up-to-date with any important valuation or policy changes.
- Lead the investment strategy unit within the company.
- Perform regular administration duties of all investment files.
- Help manage and uphold current client relationships.
- Limited travel each quarter to both Luxembourg and UK.
Requirements:
- Ideally at least 15 year's (or relevant) experience.
- Strong experience leading, supervising and motivating a team.
- Strong operational background.
- Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
- Wider operational / business management experience.
