Overview
A growing specialty insurance organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Process and reconcile cash transactions, accounts payable, and other general accounting activities.
- Assist with premium, commission, and insurance-related accounting transactions as needed.
- Support audit requests and prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with special projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred
- Insurance, financial services, or professional services experience.
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
- CPA eligibility or progress toward certification.
- Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
