Vice President - Investment Banking (M&A Focus)
A boutique investment bank headquartered in New York City is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Vice President to join its growing team. The firm has built a strong foundation in SPACs and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and is now expanding its footprint in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the firm's M&A practice while continuing to support capital markets transactions.
Coverage areas include biotech, digital assets, crypto, and fintech, providing exposure to cutting-edge sectors and complex deal structures.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including deal origination, structuring, and closing
- Manage junior team members and oversee financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence
- Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development efforts
- Collaborate with senior leadership to build out the firm's M&A capabilities and strategy
- Support ECM and SPAC transactions as needed, with a focus on cross-functional deal execution
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of investment banking experience, with at least 12-18 months at the VP level
- Proven track record of leading M&A transactions; ECM/SPAC experience is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and transaction structuring
- Sector experience in biotech, fintech, or digital assets preferred
- Ability to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
