Overview

A boutique investment bank is seeking an experienced Analyst to join its TMT M&A team in New York City. This role provides significant exposure to founders, CEOs, and senior decision makers along with hands on involvement in high touch execution across sell side and buy side mandates. Boutique environments offer greater ownership of workstreams, direct client interaction, and accelerated development compared to large platform banks.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Execution

• Support execution of buy side and sell side M&A transactions across software, internet, digital media, communications, and tech enabled services
• Build detailed financial models including three statement models, merger models, LBO models, and accretion dilution analyses
• Perform valuation work using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and DCF analyses
• Draft confidential information memorandums, management presentations, buyer lists, and other client materials
• Coordinate due diligence across accounting, legal, lenders, investors, and internal deal team members
• Manage multiple workstreams with accountability for accuracy and timeliness

Client and Sector Coverage

• Conduct research on TMT subsectors with a focus on emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and valuation drivers
• Prepare pitch materials and support senior bankers in developing strategic insights for founders and executive teams
• Maintain internal databases, sector mapping, buyer lists, and deal pipeline materials
• Participate in client calls and meetings and provide analytical support where needed

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Investment Banking or TAS experience, preferably within M&A or a relevant TMT focused group
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with the ability to build models independently
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to produce polished client ready materials
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced boutique environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance Economics Business Engineering Mathematics or related field
