Vice President - Investment Banking (M&A Focus)

A boutique investment bank headquartered in New York City is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Vice President to join its growing team. The firm has built a strong foundation in SPACs and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and is now expanding its footprint in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the firm's M&A practice while continuing to support capital markets transactions.

Coverage areas include biotech, digital assets, crypto, and fintech, providing exposure to cutting-edge sectors and complex deal structures.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including deal origination, structuring, and closing
• Manage junior team members and oversee financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development efforts
• Collaborate with senior leadership to build out the firm's M&A capabilities and strategy
• Support ECM and SPAC transactions as needed, with a focus on cross-functional deal execution

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of investment banking experience, with at least 12-18 months at the VP level
• Proven track record of leading M&A transactions; ECM/SPAC experience is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
• Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and transaction structuring
• Sector experience in biotech, fintech, or digital assets preferred
• Ability to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
