Overview

A boutique investment bank is seeking a TMT M&A Associate to join its New York City office. The Associate will play a central role in managing deal execution and driving client communications while working closely with Managing Directors and senior leadership. Boutique environments offer accelerated responsibility, greater ownership of workstreams, and more direct exposure to founders and CEOs.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Execution Leadership

• Lead day to day execution of buy side and sell side M&A transactions across software, internet, digital media, communications, and tech enabled services
• Oversee creation and review of financial models including three statement models, merger models, LBO models, and accretion dilution analyses
• Manage valuation work including comparable companies, precedent transactions, and DCF analyses
• Own drafting of confidential information memorandums, management presentations, buyer lists, and process tracking materials
• Coordinate due diligence with legal counsel, accounting advisors, lenders, investors, and internal deal team members
• Ensure deliverables are accurate, thoughtful, and aligned with client strategy and objectives

Client and Internal Leadership

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during active engagements
• Participate in client calls and meetings and help lead discussions with founders and executive teams
• Guide Analysts through modeling, presentations, and workstream management
• Support senior bankers with pitch preparation and strategic insights across TMT subsectors
• Maintain sector knowledge including competitive landscape, valuation levels, and emerging trends

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Investment Banking experience with a strong preference for direct M&A execution or TMT sector coverage
• Strong command of financial modeling and valuation with the ability to review and improve Analyst work
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills with proven ability to produce polished client ready materials
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast paced boutique environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance Economics Business Engineering Mathematics or related discipline
