Core Responsibilities
- Support the full lifecycle of physical server, network, and infrastructure components.
- Perform physical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server and network hardware in data centers.
- Design rack layouts, cabling plans, and patching schedules.
- Diagnose hardware issues and coordinate replacement or repair processes with vendors.
- Manage incoming and outgoing equipment shipments.
- Oversee hardware inventory, including physical stock and documentation.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for infrastructure and related procedures.
- Coordinate with remote hands teams at colocation facilities.
- Foster effective working relationships with external suppliers and hosting partners.
- Travel frequently within Europe (up to 50%) and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering or similar technical field support.
- Strong understanding of server, storage, and network hardware.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, including fiber and optical transceiver types.
- Practical experience with data center tasks (racking, cabling, equipment installation).
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
- Scripting ability (Python, Bash) to support automation and operational tooling.
- Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritize and act with urgency.
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
- Creative and proactive problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
- High adaptability and comfort working in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
