Senior Claims Examiner - Excess & Casualty | Hybrid | Hartford, Jersey City, or Stamford
My client, a leading specialty insurance provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Examiner to join their U.S. Casualty Claims team. This hybrid role can be based out of Hartford, CT, Jersey City, NJ, or Stamford, CT, offering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment where your expertise will make a direct impact.
About the Role:
You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex, high-severity claims involving long-tail bodily injury and property damage, primarily under Primary and Excess CGL policies. Key areas of focus include:
- Product liability and class action litigation
- Public nuisance and infectious disease claims
- New York Labor Law-related exposures
- Oversight of external counsel and third-party vendors
- Strategic negotiation and resolution of claims
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver timely and accurate claims assessments in line with policy terms
- Use data and analytics to improve vendor and TPA performance
- Collaborate across departments to ensure optimal claims outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the claims function
- Represent the company in industry forums and maintain strong broker/client relationships
What We're Looking For:
- 5-10 years of experience in complex casualty claims, including excess layers
- Solid understanding of New York Labor Law claims
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and investigative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Licenses in most U.S. states (New York and Florida required; Texas preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
