The company is seeking a Senior Medical Stop-Loss Underwriter to join its dynamic and collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone who has worked on the production side of underwriting, managing the process end-to-end, from quoting and risk evaluation to client engagement and final placement.
Reporting directly to the EVP, this position offers the opportunity to play a key role in bringing on new clients, maintaining broker and TPA relationships, and expanding the current book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full underwriting lifecycle for employer stop-loss cases
- Collaborate with brokers, TPAs, and internal stakeholders to structure competitive and sustainable deals
- Support new business development efforts by providing strategic underwriting insights
- Maintain and grow relationships with distribution partners
- Contribute to the team's premium growth goals and operational excellence
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in medical stop-loss underwriting
- Proven track record managing significant premium volume (ideally $5M+)
- Experience working directly with brokers and TPAs
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative approach
