Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Serve as the lead client contact and manage agency relationships.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive new and renewal business.
• Rate, quote, and bind complex risks, ensuring appropriate coverage and pricing.
• Submit underwriting referrals to internal brokerage facilities and senior management.
• Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve hit ratios, retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience; excess & surplus experience preferred.
• Strong sales and marketing acumen.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
• Insurance license and industry designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC) preferred.
