Actuarial Pricing Manager (Large Commercial)
Selby Jennings have partnered with a reputable global commercial and specialty insurer, currently seeking a Pricing Manager to join a newly formed team.
This is a strategic opportunity for a qualified actuary to act as the primary actuarial contact for underwriters across UK and European large-commercial portfolios. The successful candidate will lead pricing initiatives across a diverse book including Liability, Property, Motor, Engineering, Marine, and Cyber. They will drive the development and refinement of pricing tools, oversee large account pricing, and deliver portfolio-level insights to support underwriting and financial planning.
You'll ensure pricing models are effectively used and continuously improved, lead the implementation of large account pricing processes, and develop performance monitoring frameworks for key portfolios. You'll collaborate with underwriting, finance, and actuarial teams to align pricing strategies with broader business objectives, and contribute to strategic projects including reserving and actuarial systems.
The role offers high visibility across European branches and senior leadership, with responsibility for managing and mentoring junior team members and shaping pricing methodology and governance.
Role Requirements:
- Qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent) with at least two years post-qualification experience
- Minimum six years' experience in general insurance pricing, ideally within the London Market, but open to other Commercial Lines backgrounds
- Strong technical proficiency in Python (hx beneficial), Excel, VBA, and data tools such as SQL and PowerBI
- Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing pricing tools, large account pricing, and portfolio analysis
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities
