Director of Risk & Compliance
You will oversee all compliance and risk frameworks, act as the organisation's main contact for DNB, guide regulatory strategy, and ensure risks across the business are identified, monitored, and mitigated.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and execute compliance strategy, policies, and annual plans.
- Serve as primary liaison with DNB and other regulators.
- Lead SIRA, monitoring, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure adherence to Wft, Wwft, GDPR, AML/CFT, sanctions, and related laws.
- Advise leadership on regulatory risks, products, and initiatives.
- Strengthen conduct, ethics, and awareness across the organisation.
- Deliver clear reporting to the Management and Supervisory Boards.
- Maintain an independent, well‑resourced Compliance function.
- Own the ERM framework and the organisation's risk appetite.
- Oversee risk assessments across operational, cyber/IT, outsourcing, fraud, financial crime, and data protection.
- Ensure DORA compliance and ICT/third‑party oversight.
- Evaluate outsourcing and vendor risks, including concentration and exit readiness.
- Manage incident handling, root‑cause analysis, remediation, and regulatory notifications.
- Conduct thematic risk reviews and assess risks from new products, markets, and technologies.
- Produce Board‑level risk dashboards and insights.
Key Requirements
- University degree in Law, Finance, Business, or similar.
- 10+ years in Compliance, Risk, or Legal within regulated financial services.
- Strong understanding of DNB rules, Wft, Wwft, GDPR, AML/CFT, governance expectations.
- Experience with PSP regulatory frameworks (Wft/PI6, DNB, EBA).
- Fit‑and‑proper eligibility for DNB as daily policymaker.
- Proven regulator engagement and programme leadership.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills.
- Certifications (DSI, ICA) an advantage.
- Fluent English; Dutch preferred.
- Experience with IT outsourcing and DORA is required.
