VP Financial Institutions Credit (Insurance)
A top tier American investment bank is seeking a Vice President for its Financial Institutions Credit Team. The firm is an industry leading organization known for its strong culture, commitment to innovation and professional development. Ths role offers a unique opportunity to lead high visibility risk assessments, partner with senior leadership and the front office, and play a key role in developing the credit strategy across the portfolio.
As a VP in FIG Credit, you will focus on the insurance sector, overseeing the credit exposure of a diverse portfolio of insurance entities, including life insurers, property and casualty firms, re insurers, and brokers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead due diligence and credit assessments, specifically determining risk ratings, reviewing credit requests, portfolio monitoring
- Maintain risk oversight across multiple business lines
- Lead end to end credit process, including client analysis, preparing approval materials, coordinating with teams, to post approval monitoring
- Execute credit judgment and determine creditworthiness of financial institutions
- Build and maintain relationships with cross functional teams including banking, operations, legal, finance
- Mentor junior credit officers
Requirements:
- 7+ years of direct credit risk experience, specifically financial institutions credit or counterparty credit coverage
- Strong expertise in credit analysis of insurance companies
- Understanding of financial products
- Experience with trading related documentation
- Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
