Position Summary

The client is seeking a Health Analyst to join their team in Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; or Silver Spring, MD.
This role provides analytical and problem‑solving support for multiemployer health plan clients. The position offers mentorship from experienced consultants, opportunities for independent work, and a clear career development pathway.

The role follows a hybrid work model, with in‑office expectations depending on experience:

  • Candidates with hands‑on, relevant experience may qualify for a more remote schedule.
  • Early‑career professionals may have additional in‑office days to support training and development.

Health Analyst - Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with lead consultants to support client relationships, prepare materials for meetings, respond to client inquiries, and help deliver high‑quality consulting services.
  • Assist in executing client strategies by coordinating project tasks, monitoring timelines, managing workloads, ensuring quality control, and supporting billing and fee processes.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and document client data; manage data requests; and collaborate with vendors and plan professionals to resolve data‑related discrepancies.
  • Prepare recurring actuarial and financial deliverables using established templates and models, including:
    • Financial and utilization reports
    • Projections
    • Contribution rates
    • Compliance filings
    • Plan communication materials
  • Support or lead specialized analyses, including vendor RFPs, plan design evaluations, contribution impact modeling, regulatory compliance support, and implementation of plan, vendor, or funding changes.
  • Contribute to firmwide initiatives, mentor junior colleagues, maintain required continuing education, and stay current on relevant regulatory and industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideal candidates will offer:

  • A bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related quantitative or health‑focused discipline.
  • Strong technical skills, with preference for candidates who have:
    • Underwriting experience
    • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience in health and welfare consulting or health insurance (internship experience also considered).
  • Actuarial experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Background working with multiemployer health plans, bargained health plans, or negotiation support is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience at an actuarial consulting firm is strongly preferred but not needed.
