Head of Asset Management, Responsible Officer Type 1
I am currently working with the Asset Management arm of a digital assets platform, the firm is listed in both Hong Kong and Singapore with just over 1 billion USD in AUM. We are looking to source for a Head of Asset Management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset Management Leadership & Platform Build-Out
- Lead the overall strategy and development of the firm's digital asset asset management platform
- Oversee the launch, structuring, and management of fund products
- Ensure robust investment oversight frameworks, including risk management, valuation, liquidity, and operational processes
- Build and manage high-performing investment, product, and operational teams
2. Responsible Officer (SFC Regulated Activities)
- Act as a Responsible Officer (RO) for regulated activities Type 1 mandatory, Type 4 and 9 a plus
- Ensure full compliance with SFC regulations, licensing conditions, and internal control requirements
- Maintain and enhance the firm's compliance, governance, and risk frameworks
- Serve as a key interface with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders
3. Product Strategy & Development
- Drive the design and commercialisation of new investment products, with a focus on institutional adoption of digital assets
- Identify market opportunities across liquid crypto, DeFi, tokenisation, and hybrid traditional/digital strategies
- Work closely with trading, research, and technology teams to translate investment capabilities into scalable products
- Lead the development of differentiated, institutional-grade offerings aligned with investor demand and regulatory requirements
4. Business Development & Capital Raising
- Lead regional fundraising and client engagement efforts across institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and intermediaries
- Represent the firm externally as a senior spokesperson in client meetings, industry events, and strategic partnerships
5. Strategic Leadership
- Act as a key member of the regional leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy
- Partner with global stakeholders across investment, compliance, and corporate leadership
- Drive the institutionalisation of the platform, enhancing credibility with traditional finance investors entering digital assets
