About the Role
The Director of Underwriting will play a critical leadership role within the Health Solutions Division, overseeing all aspects of underwriting and financial analysis for group health plans, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and consulting experience to drive underwriting excellence and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead underwriting operations for group health products, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and competitive positioning.
- Develop pricing strategies, perform financial modeling, and assess risk exposure to support sustainable growth.
- Provide consultative expertise to clients and internal teams on plan design, cost containment, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate across divisions (retirement benefits, risk management, property and liability insurance, technology, investments) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Mentor and develop underwriting teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Background in underwriting or actuarial analysis within health insurance or employee benefits.
- Strong knowledge of group health plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability) and related financial analysis.
- Proven ability to lead teams and provide strategic consulting to clients.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
