Senior Accountant
A well-established insurance organization is looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a strong opportunity to step into a visible role supporting core accounting operations within a stable, yet evolving environment.
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, close activities, and maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP. This position will work closely with leadership and contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Support audit activities, including coordination with external auditors
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to finance leadership
- Assist with system improvements and automation initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- 3-6+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or insurance/financial services preferred)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with general ledger systems and ERP platforms
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
