Risk and Quality Operations Lead

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Engineer to build and operate the automation, tooling, and reporting that keep our Risk Adjustment and Quality operations running on schedule. This role owns the day-to-day technical execution of file ingestion workflows, validation triage, runbook maintenance, ticket automation, and operational dashboards across all client engagements.

The ideal candidate is an operations-minded builder who writes Python and SQL to remove manual work, treats runbooks and dashboards as primary deliverables, and thinks in terms of repeatability and observability. This role takes direction on scope and priorities from the Risk & Quality AO Operations Lead and partners closely with the Senior Engineer on platform changes, while owning the operational surface that internal teams, offshore vendors, and clients depend on.

Key Responsibilities

Workflow Automation & Operationalization

• Build and maintain Python scripts, scheduled jobs, and small services that automate recurring operational work across ingestion, validation, and reporting.
• Translate defined SOPs into executable workflows, including Jira automation rules, ticket routing, and escalation triggers.
• Replace manual file handling, status checks, and reconciliation tasks with scripted equivalents and document the change of state cleanly.
• Maintain version-controlled automation in source control with clear commit history and review hygiene.

File Ingestion & Validation Execution

• Operate the inbound and outbound file workflow across all active clients, including:
  • Daily monitoring of ingestion runs and validation results
  • Triage of WARN-level validation tickets and coordination with offshore engineering on remediation
  • Escalation of HOLD-level failures to the Operations Lead with full context attached
• Maintain and extend the deterministic and statistical validation check configurations in coordination with the Senior Engineer.
• Track ingestion SLAs and outbound delivery commitments and surface at-risk runs before they breach.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Build and maintain operational dashboards in Looker covering ingestion throughput, validation outcomes, ticket aging, SLA performance, and reconciliation status.
• Author BigQuery SQL queries and Dataform models that feed reporting layers and ad hoc operational analyses.
• Iterate on Beacon reporting tabs based on stakeholder feedback and add new cuts as new clients or workflows are onboarded.
• Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, refreshed on schedule, and clearly documented for downstream consumers.

Runbook Authoring & SOP Enforcement

• Author and maintain operational runbooks covering ingestion failures, validation severity tiers, SLA escalation paths, credential rotation, and access reviews.
• Enforce consistent SOP application across onshore and offshore teams; flag drift to the Operations Lead with specific examples.
• Update runbooks as workflows evolve so that documentation stays a working tool rather than a stale artifact.

Monitoring, Alerting & Issue Response

• Stand up and tune monitoring and alerting for ingestion pipelines, validation jobs, and outbound deliveries.
• Triage production issues, capture root cause context, and own follow-through on small fixes; route larger fixes to the Senior Engineer.
• Participate in incident response, post-incident review, and corrective action tracking.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Serve as the day-to-day technical point of contact for offshore operations and engineering vendors on tactical issues.
• Partner with Client Success and Product on operational readiness for new clients, new file types, and workflow changes.
• Communicate status, blockers, and resolutions clearly in Microsoft Teams and Jira; keep public channels current.
