A globally recognized hedge fund is seeking a Fundamental Investment Analyst to join its Tokyo office. The firm employs a bottom-up, high-conviction investment strategy, building concentrated portfolios with a multi-year horizon.
Role Summary:
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a disciplined, research-driven investment process focused on Japanese equities. The analyst will be responsible for generating original investment ideas, conducting deep company analysis, and presenting actionable recommendations to the investment team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough fundamental research across Japanese listed companies.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation assessments.
- Present high-conviction investment ideas with long-term perspectives.
- Monitor portfolio holdings and update views based on new developments.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to share insights and refine investment theses.
Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience in equity research or investment analysis from long-only funds, long/short hedge funds, or top-tier sell-side institutions.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for deep company research.
- Proven ability to develop differentiated investment ideas.
- Native-level fluency in Japanese is required; strong English communication skills are preferred.
- Based in Tokyo or open to relocation.
