Senior Liability Reinsurance Claims Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced claims professional with deep expertise in complex liability matters, including facultative reinsurance and runoff operations. In this role, you will take ownership of high‑severity litigated cases, provide strategic guidance to TPAs and self‑administered programs, and play a key role in overseeing our umbrella runoff portfolio. Responsibilities include conducting detailed coverage analyses, establishing and monitoring reserves, managing litigation strategy, participating in settlement discussions, and ensuring timely reporting. You will collaborate across multiple business units, support reinsurance recovery efforts, and engage directly with clients. This position also offers opportunities to travel for mediations, audits, and trials.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (JD preferred).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
• 7+ years of experience handling complex, high‑exposure liability claims, including facultative reinsurance, umbrella runoff, and construction liability.
• 5+ years of experience with environmental and latent disease claims.
• Strong knowledge of coverage issues and the ability to draft reservation of rights and coverage letters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi‑jurisdictional claims experience with a carrier or TPA.
• Proficiency across all stages of claims litigation, including mediations, settlement conferences, and trial strategy.
• Experience leading projects or influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize a high‑volume workload.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Professional designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CLCS preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Ability to protect confidentiality and maintain security of claims‑related information and systems.
