With a strong national footprint and a commitment to digital transformation, they are seeking a dynamic Director to lead core functions across Pricing, Claims, Product, and Underwriting within their Commercial P&C division.
Position Summary
As a P&C Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the commercial insurance portfolio. This executive-level position requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in commercial lines, capable of driving profitability, operational efficiency, and product innovation across the insurance lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight:
Lead and integrate pricing, product development, claims, and underwriting strategies to support growth and profitability in commercial lines (e.g., property, general liability, medical malpractice, workers' comp, commercial auto).Pricing & Risk Analytics:
Develop competitive pricing models using actuarial insights and market intelligence. Partner with data science teams to refine risk segmentation and improve loss ratio performance.Underwriting Excellence:
Define underwriting guidelines and appetite for various commercial segments. Ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with enterprise risk strategy.Product Development:
Design and launch tailored commercial insurance products that address evolving business risks and regulatory requirements.Claims Management:
Oversee commercial claims operations, ensuring timely resolution, cost control, and superior client experience.Regulatory & Compliance:
Maintain strong governance and ensure adherence to state and federal insurance regulations.Leadership & Culture:
Build and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional team. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Need to Haves:
- FCAS
- 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial P&C insurance
- Proven success in managing multi-disciplinary teams across product, claims, pricing, and underwriting
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance markets, regulatory landscape, and emerging risks
- Experience with digital tools, analytics platforms, and automation in insurance operations
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills
