Vice President - Data Analytics
We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our actuarial team as Vice President of Data Analytics. This is a high-impact role within a large, privately held insurer, where you will lead the development and execution of advanced analytics and predictive modeling strategies to drive business performance and innovation.
As a key member of the actuarial leadership team, you will report directly to the Chief Actuary and collaborate across underwriting, claims, finance, and technology to deliver actionable insights and data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of predictive analytics and modeling initiatives across multiple lines of business.
- Develop and manage a high-performing team of data scientists and actuarial analysts.
- Translate complex data into strategic recommendations for pricing, reserving, risk segmentation, and portfolio optimization.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities for innovation and operational efficiency through data.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance related to actuarial modeling and data usage.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and insurance analytics.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in actuarial science, data analytics, or related fields within the insurance industry.
- Proven expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Advanced proficiency in tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, and data visualization platforms.
- Fellow or Associate of the CAS or SOA preferred.
- Master's or PhD in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related discipline is a plus.
