Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Home Office Claim Examiner to manage and adjudicate general liability and complex claims with precision and integrity. This role requires deep technical knowledge of liability exposures, policy interpretation, litigation management, and strategic resolution planning. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with strong analytical and negotiation skills, capable of handling high-severity and high-exposure claims across multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability and complex claims, including bodily injury, property damage, product liability, and third-party exposures.
  • Interpret insurance policies and apply coverage appropriately to complex fact patterns.
  • Manage litigation in collaboration with defense counsel, including setting strategy, attending mediations, and evaluating settlement opportunities.
  • Analyze liability, damages, and risk exposure to develop and execute resolution strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, policyholders, brokers, and legal counsel to ensure timely and accurate claim handling.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the claim management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Monitor claim reserves and recommend adjustments based on ongoing evaluation of exposure and developments.
  • Stay current on legal trends, jurisdictional nuances, and industry best practices related to liability and complex claims.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; JD or CPCU designation a plus.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience handling general liability and/or complex claims.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy language, tort law, and litigation processes.
  • Proven ability to manage high-severity claims and collaborate with legal teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity and accountability.
