Claims Account Manager

Our client is a leading third-party claims administrator and an affiliate of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies, specializing in the management of complex environmental, asbestos, toxic tort, and other latent exposure claims nationwide. Known for its technical expertise, collaborative culture, and long-standing reputation within the specialty claims market, the organization partners with insurers, re-insurers, and policyholders to resolve some of the industry's most complex liability matters. As part of its continued growth, the company is looking to add an Account Manager to its team
OFFICE LOCATIONS: Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA
Responsibilities within the role include:
  • Work closely with outside counsel and managing cases through resolution
  • Evaluating new claims, analyzing coverage across primary/umbrella/excess policies, set reserves, and drive matters through resolution.
  • Coordinating closely with insureds, defense counsel, reinsurance partners, and internal legal and management teams.
  • Helping shape defense and settlement strategies, participating in mediation's, and manage declaratory judgment actions when needed.
  • Oversee payments, reserves, ALAE, and billing while ensuring proper policy allocation and documentation.
  • Anticipate issues, respond quickly to inquiries, maintain compliance (licensing), and manage cases efficiently from start to finish.
