Chief Risk Officer
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for North America is responsible for local implementation and monitoring of the Group's overall Risk Management Framework. This role ensures robust risk oversight across the region, fosters a strong risk-aware culture, and integrates emerging risks-particularly climate-related financial impacts-into business planning and reporting processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Framework Implementation:
Lead the adaptation and execution of the Group-level Risk Management Framework within North America, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness.Risk Reporting:
Deliver high-quality risk reporting-including regular updates and ORSA reports-to support informed decision-making across the organization.Control Environment & Risk Culture:
Champion a strong risk culture by supporting a well-documented, business-owned control framework and providing feedback on its adequacy.Risk Identification & Mitigation:
Collaborate with internal risk specialists and business stakeholders to proactively identify, assess, and manage current and emerging risks.Reporting & Regulatory Disclosures:
Prepare or review risk-related sections of official reports, including regulatory and financial disclosures.Climate Risk Integration:
Evaluate and report on the financial implications of climate change, contribute to strategic planning, and regularly update the board and committees on progress.
Required Experience:
Extensive leadership background in enterprise risk management, ideally within the insurance sector.
Proven ability to engage with C-suite executives and board members.
Deep experience managing regulatory relationships and requirements.
Strong understanding of risk management standards and practices.
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance markets.
Solid commercial and financial acumen.
