A high-growth financial data provider is hiring an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Sales to lead new business acquisition and drive revenue growth across financial institutions and fintech clients. This role is focused on selling data-driven solutions-including real-time market data, APIs, and programmatic delivery mechanisms-to professionals across the financial services ecosystem.
The AVP will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting through close, and will work cross-functionally to ensure clients receive tailored solutions that address their evolving data needs. While the company offers both desktop and enterprise data products, candidates with experience in enterprise data sales, particularly involving API-based and programmatic distribution, are strongly preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own and execute the full sales cycle across a portfolio of financial services and fintech clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the expansion and retention of existing accounts.
- Conduct consultative sales conversations to uncover client pain points, propose tailored solutions, and demonstrate product value.
- Collaborate with internal teams-including presales, product, and marketing-to support demos, technical evaluations, and proposal development.
- Maintain accurate pipeline data, performance tracking, and revenue forecasting using CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Represent the company at client meetings, virtual demos, industry events, and conferences.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive positioning, and industry developments to support strategic sales efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience selling enterprise data solutions, including APIs, feeds, and cloud-based delivery.
- Familiarity with how financial institutions consume data programmatically and integrate it into internal systems.
- Ability to map client business models and workflows to relevant data solutions.
- Comfortable working alongside a presales team to support technical evaluations and solution design.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing to team success.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
- 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in financial data, fintech, or capital markets.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment workflows, and data consumption models.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot), Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
