Business Development Manager - Fintech Platform Serving Financial Advisors

About the Role

The company is hiring its first Business Development Manager to lead and grow a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). This role involves hands-on leadership, coaching, and strategic oversight of outbound sales efforts. You'll work closely with senior sales leadership to shape outreach strategies, optimize team performance, and contribute to the company's broader go-to-market initiatives.

You'll also collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, relationship management, and leadership to align goals, improve lead generation, and drive pipeline growth.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and support the growth of a high-performing outbound sales team
  • Set and monitor KPIs for outreach, engagement, and conversion
  • Monitor team metrics through CRM platforms and internal systems
  • Refine outbound strategies including messaging, targeting, and cadence
  • Provide real-time coaching through call shadowing and feedback
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
  • Report on team performance and pipeline contribution to sales leadership

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience managing a sales or business development team
  • 3+ years of experience in outbound sales, including phone and email outreach
  • FINRA Series 7 license (Series 63 required within 90 days of hire)
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Familiarity with modern sales tools (e.g., HubSpot, Outreach)
  • Must be able to pass a FINRA fingerprint background check

Preferred:

  • Interest in finance and technology
  • Experience working with or selling to RIAs or wealth managers
  • Background in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solver with a proactive mindset
