Valuation Manager

A growing life insurance firm is seeking a Valuation Manager to oversee a team of actuarial professionals and lead the monthly statutory financial reporting process. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team up to 6 valuation staff, including mentoring, prioritizing, delegating, and reviewing work.
- Oversee monthly valuation processes and ensure accurate, timely statutory financial reporting.
- Direct large-scale actuarial projects and strategic initiatives as defined by senior leadership.
- Prepare actuarial components of financial reports in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
- Provide actuarial input for financial statements, tax returns, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
- Review and approve reserve analyses and non-forfeiture values for new and existing products.
- Drive process improvements and develop strategies to enhance financial reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance and/or LTC.
- FSA or career ASA.
- Strong background in modeling, programming, and quantitative analysis.
- Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to all levels of management.
- Experience managing actuarial teams and leading cross-functional projects.
