Associate Actuary (ASA or FSA)
My client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA/FSA) to join their dynamic actuarial team in Chicago. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of high-impact projects across financial modeling, risk management, M&A, and product development within the insurance and financial services sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial projection models for actuarial appraisals and valuation purposes.
- Conduct experience studies and support the development of actuarial assumptions.
- Perform asset adequacy analysis and cash flow testing to ensure financial soundness.
- Support buy-side actuarial due diligence for M&A transactions, including review of assumptions, risks, and operational metrics.
- Build and enhance valuation models for US statutory and GAAP reporting frameworks.
- Contribute to risk and capital assessments, including RBC and economic capital modeling.
- Implement the company's MG-ALFA and Integrate platforms for financial modeling and technology solutions.
- Participate in immersive training to understand operational processes and risk management strategies.
- Design and execute dynamic hedging programs to manage equity guarantee risk.
- Assist in pricing and product development for new financial services offerings.
- Construct stochastic models for hedging, valuation, and appraisals of Variable and Fixed Indexed Annuities.
- Evaluate the use of exotic derivatives in risk mitigation strategies.
- Analyze the impact of risk management programs in the context of M&A transactions.
Qualifications:
- ASA or FSA designation required.
- Strong background in actuarial modeling, financial reporting, or risk management.
- Experience with MG-ALFA, Integrate, or similar actuarial software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Prior experience in M&A, annuity products, or hedging strategies is highly desirable.
