Senior Network Engineer
We are currently partnered with a leading multi-strat hedge fund founded in the late 2000's. The firm specializes in diverse global investment strategies covering a wide variety of asset classes. They pride themselves on their strong technological stack, and cutting edge nature of the work they are doing. They operate on a hybrid basis, with offices across the globe, where you will work alongside highly intellectual and talented colleagues.
The team is looking to bring on a Senior Network Engineer to their highly sophisticated team. You will oversee and enhance their global trading, data center, office, and remote branch networks. To be successful in this role, you will excel in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and tackle complex challenges head on.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a multi-vendor global trading network.
- Lead greenfield build outs of colocation and proximity data centers.
- Manage Multicast market data feeds for all exchanges and support algorithmic traders.
- Secure the firm's perimeter using Palo Alto firewalls, build site-to-site VPN tunnels, and enforce strict security policies.
- Develop automation scripts to enhance efficiency and identify improvement areas.
- Configure F5 Local Traffic Manager and Global Traffic Manager for IP and DNS load balancing.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced Networking environment, ideally in Financial Services
- Expert level experience working with Palo Alto firewalls.
- Proficiency in Linux command line utilities.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Ansible.
- Experience with F5 LTM and GTM devices.
- Knowledge of data center build processes
- Cloud Networking experience is preferred (AWS)
- Deep technical experience utilizing Multicast, tcpdump, and Wireshark
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Cyber Security, or related IT fields
