MacOS Platform Engineer
A high-frequency trading firm is seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer with a strong focus on macOS systems to join their internal IT operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment and is passionate about delivering seamless technical support to a global user base.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person technical support for users in the Austin office, covering macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, and mobile devices using enterprise-grade MDM tools.
- Manage user onboarding processes including account setup, VPN access, and directory permissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues and escalate when necessary.
- Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for internal teams and end-users.
- Own and manage the macOS support queue, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with global IT teams to support macOS users across multiple regions.
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and health checks on team-managed infrastructure.
- Automate routine administrative tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance IT support capabilities
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with Jamf Pro or similar MDM platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash, zsh, or Python.
- Deep understanding of macOS environments (macOS 13+).
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
- Ability to manage projects independently and work effectively in a team.
- Jamf 100 and 200 certifications.
Nice to Have:
- Advanced Jamf certifications (300, 370, 400).
- Experience with technical documentation (Markdown, wikis, etc.).
- Familiarity with macOS application packaging and deployment.
- Exposure to Windows and Linux support environments.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server.
- Experience managing iOS/iPadOS devices via MDM.
