Risk Developer
A global investment firm is seeking a Founding Risk Engineer to join their New York office, supporting the buildout of their US-based risk technology function. This role will focus on developing greenfield infrastructure for risk analytics and reporting across equities, MBS, and other asset classes. The ideal candidate will be a backend-leaning generalist with strong technical fundamentals, an interest in financial systems, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend systems for intraday risk, market data ingestion, and analytics.
- Collaborate with global teams to extend and localize risk infrastructure for the US timezone.
- Participate in the evolution of the firm's risk architecture
- Operate autonomously while aligning with global standards and long-term strategy.
Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
- Proficiency in Python, willingness to learn a proprietary functional language.
- Experience working in collaborative, team-based environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate large, organically grown codebases.
- Familiarity with GitLab or similar version control tools.
- Understanding of financial concepts and asset classes; fixed income and equities experience is a plus.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to risk systems or financial reporting infrastructure.
- Experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases.
- Interest in greenfield development and shaping technical direction.
