National Accounts Manager
Our client is a regional carrier located in the Pacific Northwest, delivering personal and commercial insurance products through a network of local independent agents and national retail brokerages.
We are seeking an experienced National Accounts Manager to manage and grow relationships with large national clients and broker partners. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth, leading complex renewals, influencing cross-functional teams, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities
- Grow national accounts through strategic planning, relationship expansion, and profitable revenue initiatives.
- Negotiate terms, compensation structures, and agreements that support long-term success.
- Serve as the primary contact for national clients and brokers, building strong multi-level relationships.
- Coordinate large and complex renewals, ensuring timely submissions and smooth execution.
- Gather and apply feedback to improve processes and outcomes.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and technology needs to maintain a competitive edge.
- Support merger and acquisition activities to ensure continuity and alignment.
- Collaborate with customer service, underwriting, claims, product, operations, and sales teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Monitor account performance using KPIs and dashboards, and implement improvements.
- Oversee program launches, renewals, and contract compliance, including pricing and underwriting collaboration.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Advanced expertise in Independent Agency distribution, agency sales operations, and underwriting disciplines.
- Proven relationship management skills, including negotiation, influence, advisory consulting, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in developing marketing strategies that drive profitable growth.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
- Proficiency with PC systems and a foundational understanding of insurance technology platforms.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; CIC or other industry designations preferred.
- 8-10+ years in sales, strategy, agency management, underwriting, product development, or related insurance experience.
- 5-10+ years working within the Independent Insurance Agency channel.
