About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing consulting firm with an innovative FP&A technology platform is seeking a Finance Manager (Implementation Lead) to oversee financial implementations for its middle‑market client portfolio. This role acts as the senior financial partner during engagements, integrating financial modeling, forecasting, cash flow management, and data operations into the firm's proprietary FP&A tool. Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Financial Delivery
- Serve as the senior financial business partner for client leadership, managing deployment of the FP&A tool and delivering accurate forecasts.
- Lead the full 13‑week cash flow forecasting process, including model development, weekly updates, variance analysis, and executive‑level commentary.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis, identify performance drivers, and clearly communicate insights to management teams.
- Manage financial reconciliation across systems and reporting periods to ensure complete financial data integrity.
Data, Systems & Implementation
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure accurate data pipeline buildout, validation, and continuous system performance.
- Oversee data mapping activities during system transitions, validating completeness and accuracy of data structures and outputs.
- Train clients on platform functionality and best practices.
Process Improvement & Value Creation
- Guide clients on working capital optimization across AR, AP, and inventory, providing actionable recommendations.
- Design management dashboards and decision-support tools tailored to client needs.
- Contribute to internal business development through pitch support and resource planning.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage analysts and associates through the implementation lifecycle, including prioritization, work review, coaching, and development.
- Build strong trust-based relationships with executive-level stakeholders across engagements.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in financial modeling, forecasting, corporate finance, accounting, investment banking, or consulting.
- Experience with financial systems implementation strongly preferred.
Consulting Background
- Consulting and project-based experience is required; ability to deliver in a client-facing environment.
- Big 4 Manager-level experience strongly preferred (or equivalent advisory background).
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Exposure to financial systems and ERP platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical reasoning skills, with the ability to produce concise, executive-ready commentary.
Leadership & Communication
- Proven ability to lead teams through live implementations, ensuring quality delivery.
- Effective communicator capable of translating complex financial data for C‑suite audiences and PE stakeholders.
Work Style
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments; adept at managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
