Technical Product Manager

Technical Product Manager

We partnering with a leading trading firm that is looking to bring on a Technical Product Manager (TPM) with hands-on experience supporting software development teams and a strong background in business or business systems analysis. In this role, you'll work closely with Development and Operations groups to ensure engineering efforts stay focused, organized, and aligned with business priorities. You will translate business needs into actionable plans, manage team intake and prioritization, and maintain momentum across multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

Intake & Prioritization

  • Lead the intake process for new initiatives: gather and document requirements, validate against established business rules, assess impact and value, clarify timelines, and evaluate feasibility.
  • Own the team roadmap in collaboration with team leads and product owners-define scope, key milestones, and backlog priorities in line with organizational processes.
  • Communicate prioritization decisions with transparency, analyzing impacts when competing needs arise and resetting expectations as necessary.

Cross-Functional Relationship Management

  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, engineering teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations using data-driven insights or clearly stated assumptions when data is limited.
  • Surface opportunities, risks, and key decision points to business and technical partners.

Execution & Delivery Management

  • Support delivery readiness by tracking progress, resolving blockers, coordinating dependencies, and validating that requirements remain accurate.
  • Provide delivery oversight in environments without dedicated project management-owning communications, risk mitigation, and cross-team accountability.
  • Monitor execution metrics, adjusting timelines proactively to ensure delivery confidence and coordinating with stakeholders and project managers when needed.

Portfolio Visibility & Risk Management

  • Maintain clear visibility into current work, upcoming priorities, and long-term initiatives to support planning and informed decision-making.
  • Identify risks to milestones by analyzing workload and team velocity; develop and implement mitigation strategies as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Technical Program Manager, or similar role supporting software development teams.
  • Background in business or business systems analysis, with demonstrated ability to evaluate requirements against business rules, system logic, and data models.
  • Proven experience driving intake processes, balancing competing priorities, and guiding sprint prioritization across multiple teams or products.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, with strong data literacy and the ability to leverage data constraints in requirements and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging with both technical and business leadership.
  • Ability to lead with empathy, influence without direct authority, and navigate conflict through structured, reasoned decision-making.
