A top tier global hedge fund is seeking a Manager of End User Compute to build and lead a newly created function within its technology organization. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the end user environment at a fast growing and high performing investment firm.
The firm is consolidating end user responsibilities that currently sit across multiple groups. The scope includes Windows environments, remote access solutions, collaboration tools, laptops, mobile devices, and a wide range of operating systems. The team also supports digital employee experience tools used by investment and trading professionals.
This is not a front line support role. The manager will lead a small but highly capable team and will serve as the escalation point for complex desktop and environment issues. The firm values someone polished, confident, and able to provide clear and practical perspectives on existing systems. The culture is fast paced and expects a strong backbone paired with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and lead a new End User Compute function within the technology organization
* Manage a team of 4 to 5 engineers with the potential for growth
* Serve as the primary escalation point for complex desktop and environment issues
* Oversee Windows environments and remote access technologies
* Consolidate end user responsibilities that currently span multiple teams
* Manage a diverse range of operating systems and end user platforms
* Own laptops, mobile devices, collaboration technology, and related tooling
* Support digital employee experience tools used by investment teams
* Provide clear recommendations for improving systems and workflows
* Partner with infrastructure and application teams to streamline end user technology
* Maintain a polished and professional presence while operating in a high expectation environment
Candidate Profile
* Strong experience in end user compute leadership within demanding environments
* Confident communicator who can form clear opinions on systems and technology
* Polished and steady presence with the ability to push back when needed
* Comfortable leading a lean team rather than a large support organization
* Experience in financial services or similarly fast paced environments is a plus
* Able to work effectively with both technology teams and senior business users
