Client/Job Summary:
A logistics company is looking for a Controller to manage their accounting functions including preparing financial statements, managing the close process, variance analysis, financial reporting, and expense management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
- Own monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
- Build and enhance cost accounting processes, identify inefficiencies, and partner with operations to improve profitability.
- Oversee AP, AR, purchasing, collections, banking relationships, fixed assets, and internal controls.
- Lead ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives to increase reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Manage the accounting team and provide leadership across finance operations.
- Partner with business leaders to develop reporting by business unit, location, and project to drive decision-making.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, insurance programs, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Support payroll, benefits administration, and HR-related financial processes.
- Assist executive leadership with growth initiatives, acquisitions, capital planning, and long-term business strategy.
Key Qualifications:
- Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience within a multi-entity, operationally intensive environment.
- Strong financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and cash management expertise.
- Experience improving processes, implementing systems, and building scalable financial infrastructure.
- Hands-on leader comfortable managing both strategic initiatives and day-to-day accounting operations.
- Ability to partner closely with operations and executive leadership to support growth and business performance.
