AR Specialist (m/f/d) - Berlin
On behalf of an internationally operating organization within the life sciences / healthcare services sector, we are currently looking for an experienced AP / AR Specialist (m/f/d) to join the finance team at the Berlin location.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a global environment, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, and to take ownership of end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Review, validate, and post vendor invoices
- Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Prepare and schedule payment runs
- Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue customer invoices
- Post and allocate incoming payments
- Monitor open items and manage collections activities
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable aging
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare AP/AR aging and reconciliation reports
- Support monthly and annual closing activities
Operational & Administrative Support
- Investigate and resolve invoice or payment variances
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records
- Support internal and external audits as required
Your Profile
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Business-fluent English is required; additional European languages are an advantage
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems (ERP exposure is a plus)
- High attention to detail and accuracy, combined with efficiency
- Solid knowledge of VAT and intra-/extra‑community transactions
- Experience in an international, medium to large-sized organisation preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adhere to internal policies
- Professional and service-oriented approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
