Actuarial Modeling - Life & LTC Insurance
A well-established insurance organization is seeking a career ASA-level Actuarial Modeler to join their modeling team. This is a newly open, full-time role focused on ensuring actuarial models are functioning correctly and efficiently, and on resolving issues as they arise.
The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience in model validation and maintenance, particularly within platforms like GGY AXIS (strongly preferred), MG-ALFA, PolySystems, or Proffit. This position offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates located in the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones only.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and validate complex actuarial models to support financial reporting and risk management
Identify and resolve issues in model functionality, assumptions, and processes
Collaborate with valuation, finance, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and model alignment
Document model changes and testing processes in compliance with internal governance standards
Support the integration of model updates and enhancements
Required Qualifications:
ASA designation with at least 5+ years of actuarial experience
Strong actuarial modeling experience in at least one platform: GGY AXIS (preferred), MG-ALFA, Proffit, or PolySystems
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in a modeling environment
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Experience:
Experience in Long-Term Care or Life Insurance
Background in valuation or financial reporting
Exposure to actuarial governance or model documentation best practices
