Data Analytics Specialist

Our client is a growing P&C carrier looking to expand their Risk Analytics team, with the addition of a Data Analytics Specialist. In this role you will collaborate directly with senior leadership, across a multitude of teams including actuarial, underwriting and data science. Ideal candidates for the role will have an analytic background, programming language proficiency's and a P&C background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support analytics across underwriting, claims, and pricing.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Create dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Build predictive models for risk assessment, fraud detection, and loss forecasting.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Support underwriting decisions with data-driven risk profiling and portfolio analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement analytics solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor performance to inform strategy.
  • Automate manual reporting and data processing tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Provide analytical support for regulatory filings and compliance initiatives.
  • Translate complex data into clear visualizations and business narratives.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Solid understanding of P&C insurance concepts including underwriting, claims, and pricing.
