Position Overview
This hybrid role supports the underwriting and risk evaluation process for a bundled commercial insurance product that includes General Liability, Property, Workers' Compensation, and Commercial Auto. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, tech-forward environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service and value to small business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess underwriting referrals, post-bind activities, policy changes, and cancellations
- Analyze risk exposures to ensure alignment with underwriting guidelines and profitability goals
- Collaborate with the sales team to support quoting and policy issuance workflows
- Assist with customer service tasks such as billing inquiries, reporting, and general support
- Communicate with clients regarding premium audits and policy updates
- Adapt to evolving business needs, including changes in technology, compliance, and underwriting appetite
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
- Solid background in commercial P&C underwriting, preferably across multiple lines (GL, Property, WC, Auto)
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Customer-first mindset with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities
Education & Background:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial underwriting
