Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a Shenzhen-based software engineering team, setting priorities and maintaining high delivery standards.
- Take end-to-end ownership of application-development projects, from requirements gathering through implementation and ongoing improvement.
- Introduce more consistent engineering, development, infrastructure, and delivery processes across the technology function.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate commercial and operational requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives that improve the resilience and efficiency of trading-system support.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of enterprise platforms across customer management, human-resources technology, and related internal applications.
- Sponsor selected artificial-intelligence initiatives, including technology designed to improve customer-service capabilities.
- Remain sufficiently close to the technology to guide architecture, challenge engineering decisions, and support the resolution of complex delivery issues.
Key Requirements:
- Strong software-development background with substantial hands-on engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading development teams and managing engineers in a delivery-focused environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in application development, project execution, and technology transformation.
- Professional experience within financial services, such as securities, capital markets, investment management, hedge funds, or another regulated financial institution.
- Ability to oversee multiple business-critical technology workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of structured software-development and infrastructure processes.
- Experience partnering with senior business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
- Capacity to balance strategic leadership with detailed technical involvement.
- Strong communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional fluency appropriate for collaborating with stakeholders and engineering teams in Greater China.
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting technology used in trading or capital-markets environments.
- Exposure to workflow or support automation for trading systems.
- Experience overseeing customer-management or human-resources platforms.
- Familiarity with applied AI, intelligent customer-service technology, or comparable digital initiatives.
