Selby Jennings is partnered with an Investment/Wealth Management firm in NYC, with over $30 billion in assets, to help them bring on a Director / Controller - Focused on Management Company accounting.
This firm focuses on providing investment and wealth management advice to high-net-worth individuals and private families - with a history of excellent performance with $25bn+ in assets and has been in operations for 25+ years.
Responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management.
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions and reconciliations. Ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation of cash movements.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Working closely with the CFO and wider leadership on budgeting, forecasting, process optimization, and strategy implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in accounting
- 3-5 years of leadership/management experience
- CPA or progress towards attainment
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience supporting Audit & Tax reporting and analysis
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general reporting standards
