Bodily Injury Claims Examiner
Location: Hybrid - New Jersey
Position Overview:
Our client, one of the top tier insurers is looking to bring on an experienced Bodily Injury Claims Examiner to the team. This role will be responsible for carrying out coverage review, liability & bodily injury claims investigation, 1st and 3rd party claims negotiation, and settlement of claims. The ideal candidate will have litigation and extensive bodily injury experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly contact insureds, claimants, and witnesses to conduct thorough investigations of coverage, liability, and injuries, including recorded statements when required.
- Review and interpret policy language to determine coverage, manage reserves accurately, and update them based on claim developments.
- Coordinate and direct outside vendors such as field investigators, legal counsel, and surveillance teams to ensure necessary and cost-effective investigations.
- Negotiate first- and third-party claims with injured parties or attorneys, identify fraud indicators and subrogation opportunities, and refer cases to SIU when appropriate.
- Apply advanced expertise in coverage analysis, litigation, negotiation, medical terminology, and regulatory compliance while managing complex claims independently and collaborating with team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ year of experience in managing liability/PIP claims.
- Skilled in using claims management software.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
