Asset Modeling Actuary
A life and annuity organization is seeking a Senior Actuarial Assistant to support asset‑related actuarial modeling across traditional life, universal life, immediate and deferred annuities, and pension risk transfer business. This role supports valuation, corporate planning, investment analysis, and financial reinsurance pricing across multiple accounting bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain asset models in AXIS for valuation, planning, and investment analysis
- Support model review, release, documentation, and governance requirements
- Perform asset cash flow analysis, reinvestment strategy modeling, and stress testing
- Create discount rates and support IFRS and US GAAP reporting, including IFRS 9 requirements
- Assist with financial assumption setting, sensitivities, and asset‑specific reporting
- Collaborate with valuation, investments, finance, accounting, IT, and model development teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, or a related analytical field
- Near ASA with 3+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance or investments
- Strong AXIS modeling experience required
- Exposure to asset modeling, scenario testing, or pension risk transfer preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and database tools such as SQL
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- IFRS and/or US GAAP experience preferred
