AVP/VP, Cyber Security - Data Security
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the organization's data security strategy in alignment with global cybersecurity frameworks and business objectives.
Lead data protection efforts across structured and unstructured data sources including data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, and secure data handling.
Collaborate with data owners, system owners, and business stakeholders to classify, govern, and protect sensitive data.
Drive implementation and management of DLP solutions (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec, Forcepoint).
Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of data security tools including design, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., MAS TRM, GDPR, PDPA), assess risks, and support audits and reviews.
Manage incident response processes related to data breaches or potential leaks, and lead investigations.
Partner with Infrastructure, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to develop data protection policies and standards.
Provide thought leadership and mentor junior team members on data security best practices.
Stay updated on emerging threats, tools, and technologies relevant to data protection.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
7-12 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on data security and data governance.
Proven hands-on experience with DLP tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec, Forcepoint, etc.), encryption, data classification, and cloud data protection.
Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., MAS TRM, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and securing data across hybrid infrastructure.
Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional communication skills.
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent are highly preferred.
