Asset-Backed Finance (Structured Products Valuation) - Vice President or Director

A premier global investment banking advisory firm is seeking a Vice President or Director to join its Valuations & Opinions Group, with a focus on structured products and asset-backed finance. This is a high-impact leadership role within a rapidly growing practice that serves top-tier investment funds, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
Role Overview:
This position offers the opportunity to lead valuation engagements involving complex and illiquid securities, including structured finance instruments such as RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, ABS, and whole loan portfolios. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a client-focused mindset to help drive growth and maintain the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee valuation engagements for structured finance assets and illiquid securities
- Provide quality control and technical oversight on financial models and valuation methodologies
- Manage and mentor junior team members (Associates and Analysts)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and lead client meetings
- Develop and maintain relationships with alternative investment managers, financial institutions, and corporate clients
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client outreach
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in structured finance, valuations, or related areas (e.g., trading, structuring, modeling)
- Strong understanding of structured product deal terms, collateral risk, and market dynamics
- Proficiency with valuation tools and platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Intex)
- Advanced financial modeling skills and experience with DCF, market multiples, and option pricing
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing teams and client relationships
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; MBA preferred
- CPA, CFA, or ASA designation is a plus
